Making a millennia-old industry attractive and creating a website with international ambitions – that's the challenge we took on !

A mission like this has everything we need, because we love simplifying, streamlining and innovating!
Challenges that were initially difficult to overcome with conventional software are now easier to overcome with Drupal.
If someone talks to you about taxonomy, asynchronous translation, or advanced SEO optimization, do you have questions? We don’t, thanks to Drupal.
Taxonomy (classification) is an integral part of the Drupal architecture.
Thanks to it, we were able to manage products, services and applications by market very smoothly. The same goes for managing asynchronous translations, an important constraint for Carmeuse, as not all products and services are available for all markets. Here again, Drupal scores well against other open-source solutions.
We have integrated SEO modules to optimize and automate referencing. This is essential for a global company like Carmeuse, as it involves precise management of URL redirects, with an appropriate “country/language” structure.
So, what did you touch this morning that was made from limestone or lime?
Can you imagine dozens of country-specific websites talking about the same company? A real headache to build a coherent identity and communication... So we tackled another headache, but this one coherent and rational: that of building multi-country, scalable corporate information on a single site.
We inventoried, provided structure, organized and built a customized tool.
The result? A web platform available in sixteen languages, enabling a team based in Belgium, the USA and Slovakia to manage content via a customized backoffice and automate translations from the DeepL back office.
Mini sites have also been developed on the same technical basis, but specific to the new entities (Brazil, Colombia) that have joined the Group.
