At the outset, UNamur.be was a constellation of 50 sites managed by different teams, generating thousands of pieces of content. We were tasked with streamlining all this information to build a single, clear, centralized digital experience. The aim was to put the communications department back at the heart of the project, in order to manage issues linked to different target audiences, languages, content accessibility and message consistency. 
 
Scoop: we really enjoyed working on this project. Because it was ambitious without being unrealistic; because all the people who worked on it were motivated and enthusiastic; and because Drupal was once again the right CMS: robust, flexible and capable of interacting seamlessly with third-party systems.

From the outset of our collaboration, we knew that Drupal was the best suited CMS to this mission, because it is also scalable: it allows the platform to grow with the university's needs. It's also capable of interacting seamlessly with third-party systems. And finally, it's great at customizing the user experience by target audience.

Fully dedicated teams

We set to work. The project lasted a year. We dedicated a development team who worked in concert with the communications team and other key internal players. We say it over and over again, but we never tire of it: the success of a project of this scale lies in co-construction and mutual trust, with a healthy dose of energy.

We have worked hand in hand with the University to create a site that satisfies both the University's communicators and the employees of other departments who need to be able to use it. Trust is essential in such a high-stakes project. 

We had a common goal and we stayed on course.

For us, this assignment was a real model of customer-agency working.

Before Drupal, before the code, before the functionalities, it's above all a very rich human experience that we remember. In addition to working for a year with the communications teams, we also took the time to train and support the staff who would be working on the back office, which we wanted to be ergonomic, pleasant and easy to use.

The icing on the cake is that we've pushed Drupal to its limits and used all its strengths to offer a platform that does more than just the job: it meets all the needs of its users and makes you want to go back to school for a few more years. ! 

Thanks to Drupal, the new platform is : 

  • User-friendly:  its attractive design and interactive features encourage users to explore and interact with the university's offerings. 
  • Scalable: Drupal guarantees that the platform can grow with the university, welcoming new features and content.
