The University Hospital of Brussels (H.U.B) is located in the heart of Brussels, on two sites in Laeken and Anderlecht. It was created from the merger of Institut Bordet, Hôpital Erasme and Hôpital des enfants Reine Fabiola (Huderf). With almost 1,500 beds, 1,000 doctors and 4,000 staff, it is the largest hospital in Belgium and is ranked among the best in the world.
It provides the best care in general services, with nearly 80 specialties at Erasme; covers all cancer pathologies at the Institut Jules Bordet; and is the only Belgian hospital dedicated to children and teenagers, with 40 specialties.

How do we do it? By taking stock, providing structure, organizing, building a customized tool with a focus on content managers' and visitors' experiences, and optimizing SEO tools. With the intranet in our sights.

The Intranet, pillar of internal communication

From the outside, the intranet may not look like much. Yet we know it's key. 

The new Intranet will gradually replace those of each entity, with personalized information. So that employees always feel a little at home. The same goes for the UX concepts tried and tested on the Erasme, Huderf and H.U.B. websites, which we wanted to reuse.

We felt it was important for every user to be able to add favorites to their profile to access important information. Just as we have paid close attention to the user experience of content contributors: this is one of the keys to the platform's success. !

Present H.U.B in an integrated way, building on existing sites

Above all, we had to create a corporate site for H.U.B that reflected the 3 values and 3 missions of the institutions: excellence, innovation and accessibility. Care, research and teaching.

But the original sites weren't to be thrown away. It was up to us and the com teams to optimize and adapt them to current standards. We wanted to make the most of what had been developed for the H.U.B. and create new functionalities for Erasme and Huderf: a transversal and integrated user experience, a design system common to both sites, services, pathologies and contact information, and finally filters and search tools to find contact information. And let's not forget the appointment forms.
