The project
The Recruitment Advisor website is aimed at international migrant workers and lists recruitment agencies from around twenty countries in Asia and Africa. These agencies are rated on the basis of reviews submitted by workers, as well as comments on their experience. The tool also provides information on labour laws for each country listed, lists any agreements between countries, and also provides practical advice and warnings.
Imagined and sponsored by the ITUC (International Trade Union Confederation), and supported by the ILO (International Labour Organization), this online tool aims to provide migrant workers with the best possible information in order to enable stakeholders (recruitment agencies and employers) to improve their working conditions and comply with the laws in force.
Takeover and changes
Our first task was to reimagine the user experience, both on the agency side as well as the worker side, and to optimise it for smartphones via a redesign stage. In addition to the design and development of the functional aspect of the site, an important part of the work consisted of repatriating the existing reviews and integrating their old rating model into a new, better-adapted version.
ITUC was happy to have found in WebstanZ a partner which was able to go beyond the purely technical aspects of the web tool, and especially appreciated having been able to collaborate with an agency that was able to immerse itself in its mission and vision. We are now working on creating an API to allow visitors to interact with a chatbot, thus making it easier for them to find agencies and optimising the submission of reviews and with the goal being to maximise the acquisition rate.
- Collecting reviews about the agencies listed on the site through a form;
- Searching, filtering, and sorting recruitment agencies according to the migrant worker's country of origin and destination;
- Rating recruitment agencies on the basis of the reviews collected.
A multilingual site
During the numerous workshops organised with the client, we worked together to better understand the company's business, define the lines of communication, and to properly divide up the content of the site.
After having determined the requirements inherent to the project, we designed wireframes in keeping with the rules of user experience (UX) in order to distribute the site's content in an optimal manner. A mock-up was then created on the basis of these workshops after the user interface (UI) framework had been validated.

- Improvement of the review collection form and implementation of the new rating system;
- Management of media in different formats (video, images, etc.);
- Drupal theming (set-up of a specific layout);
- Option to add enriched content according to the user's wishes (whole paragraph, columns, alternating with an image, etc.);
- Drupal modules for SEO;
- The site is multilingual (English, Sinhala, Tamil, Indonesian, etc.), sometimes with languages written from right to left.
